Botswana Hemp Impact Conference 2025 to Spotlight Emerging Industry Opportunities. Botswana’s entrepreneurial community will soon gather for a landmark event as the Botswana Hemp Impact Conference (BHIC) 2025 takes place on 3–4 September in Gaborone. The conference is being positioned as a historic platform to explore the economic potential of hemp and cannabis across Africa, with a particular focus on opportunities for Botswana’s business sector.

Organisers note that the hemp industry is gaining traction globally, with applications ranging from textiles and construction materials to food, wellness, and pharmaceuticals. For Botswana, where diversification is central to the national development agenda, the sector presents untapped avenues for investment, job creation, and industrial growth.

Local entrepreneurs attending BHIC 2025 will be exposed to insights from regional and international industry leaders, case studies, and discussions on how the value chain can be developed responsibly and sustainably. The event is also expected to highlight regulatory frameworks, market access, and financing opportunities that can shape Botswana’s positioning in the hemp economy.

In line with building skills and knowledge, Cheeba Africa has introduced a Cannabis Scholarship programme aimed at empowering Batswana. The initiative will sponsor three students annually for a 12-week Cannabis Industry 101 course in Johannesburg, South Africa. Applicants must be Motswana, over 18, and passionate about the hemp and cannabis sector. For young entrepreneurs, this scholarship creates a pathway to gain industry expertise that can be applied locally.

With BHIC 2025 just days away, Botswana’s entrepreneurs and investors have an opportunity to engage in conversations that could shape the future of one of Africa’s fastest-growing industries. The event signals not only an economic opening but also a chance for Botswana to establish itself as a player in the global hemp and cannabis market.
