Botswana Entrepreneur Thato Mhlanga Celebrates IED GGraduation. Botswana entrepreneur Thato Mhlanga has shared an inspiring milestone after graduating from the IED Institute through a training partnership supported by First National Bank Botswana (FNBB). Her message, posted publicly, has resonated with many in the country’s growing entrepreneurship community, highlighting the impact of structured business development programmes on emerging enterprises.

Mhlanga described the achievement as more than a graduation, calling it a powerful reminder of the role that faith, discipline, and consistency play in building a sustainable business. Standing beside her products during the ceremony, she reflected on how far her entrepreneurial journey has come and how much the programme has contributed to her growth.

As part of the FNBB–IED collaboration, small business owners undergo practical training designed to improve their business skills, strategic decision making, and confidence in their ideas. Mhlanga noted that these tools have already begun shaping her plans as she continues to position her business for long-term success.

In her message, she expressed gratitude to FNBB for its support of small businesses and to the IED Institute for providing mentorship and knowledge that she says have transformed her thinking as an entrepreneur. She also credited her personal faith for giving her strength and direction throughout the process.

“This is only the beginning,” she wrote, emphasising her commitment to building a business that benefits her children, her community, and her own personal development as a woman in business.

For many entrepreneurs in Botswana, Mhlanga’s story reflects the growing importance of partnerships, training programmes, and institutional support in strengthening the country’s SME ecosystem. Her achievement also underscores the increasing visibility of local entrepreneurs who are actively investing in their skills to build sustainable, long term ventures.
