Botswana Chamber of Mines to Host Local Manufacturing Summit 2025. The Botswana Chamber of Mines (BCM) is set to host the third edition of the Local Manufacturing Summit (LMS), a strategic platform aimed at strengthening Botswana’s manufacturing and supply chain sectors. Scheduled for 1–2 September 2025 at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC), the summit will focus on creating opportunities and addressing challenges within the local manufacturing ecosystem.

The LMS is an initiative rooted in BCM’s long-standing efforts, including the Chamber of Mines Business Development Forum (COMBDF), Supplier Development Programme (SDP), and Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme (CEEP). These projects, developed in collaboration with corporate partners since 2014, have consistently supported local business development, supplier growth, and economic empowerment.

This year’s summit will bring together top executives from the manufacturing and mining sectors, policymakers, business leaders, and financial institutions from Botswana and the wider region. Under the theme “Shaping the Future of Botswana’s Manufacturing Sector: Exploring the Opportunities of Industrial Manufacturing and Agro-Processing,” discussions will focus on investment opportunities, industrial growth, and strategies to leverage procurement spending within the mining industry to generate employment.

BCM emphasises that manufacturing remains one of the foremost drivers of job creation globally. By fostering partnerships between the mining and manufacturing sectors, the summit seeks to unlock avenues for local businesses to supply goods and services while enhancing skills development and economic participation.

Entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders are invited to register, sponsor, exhibit, or contribute as speakers and technical partners to engage with a network of industry leaders. The summit presents a platform to explore collaboration, innovation, and investment in Botswana’s growing manufacturing and agribusiness sectors.
