Botswana Celebrates Diplomatic Leadership at Gala Honouring Newly Appointed Envoys. Botswana’s diplomatic community was formally honoured at a gala dinner hosted by the Botswana Tourism Organisation in partnership with Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino, recognising the country’s recently appointed envoys, ambassadors and high commissioners.

The event celebrated those selected by Duma Boko to represent the nation abroad, highlighting their role in strengthening Botswana’s global presence and advancing national interests. The gathering also reflected the importance of diplomacy in supporting international cooperation, economic engagement and cultural exchange.

In her welcome address, Dimpho Mogami, Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of International Relations, praised the continued collaboration between public institutions. She emphasised that strong partnerships across government entities play an important role in advancing Botswana’s strategic priorities and sustaining the country’s respected international standing.

Representing the tourism sector, Justice Ofentse, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the tourism body, described the diplomats’ appointments as both an honour and a responsibility. He noted that Botswana’s missions abroad contribute significantly to promoting the country’s tourism appeal, cultural identity and investment potential by sharing its story with global audiences.

In closing remarks, Boga Manatsha expressed the collective readiness of the newly appointed representatives to serve with dedication and integrity.
