Botswana Air Access Showcases New Business Routes at AviaDev Africa 2025. Botswana’s air connectivity agenda is gaining international attention as a high-level delegation from Botswana Air Access, led by the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB), participates in the AviaDev Africa 2025 conference from 11–13 June in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
AviaDev is Africa’s leading air service development forum, and Botswana’s presence marks a critical milestone in its broader strategy to unlock regional integration, boost tourism, and expand trade through enhanced air access. For Botswana’s entrepreneurs and investors, this initiative offers significant potential to connect more efficiently to key markets across Africa and beyond.
Botswana’s participation is guided by four strategic objectives:Engaging airlines directly to discuss potential new and expanded routes to and from Botswana.Showcasing Botswana’s investment, tourism, and air transport opportunities at an official exhibition stand.Building relationships with aviation industry leaders, route development planners, and investors.Positioning Botswana as a viable host for AviaDev Africa 2026.
Over 13 strategic meetings have already been confirmed with both African and international airline carriers. Botswana’s team is presenting data-backed business cases highlighting market demand, tourism flows, and trade opportunities—making a compelling case for new direct air services.
Botswana Air Access is a coordinated national initiative launched in August 2024, involving CAAB, the Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO), Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), Business Botswana, and other key industry bodies. The program ensures a unified approach to route development, offering a single point of contact for carriers and leveraging economic data to inform strategic planning.
For Botswana’s entrepreneurial community, these efforts signal greater access to regional hubs and international markets—strengthening opportunities in tourism, trade, logistics, and investment.
