Botash Donates Equipment Worth P760,000 to Local Schools. Botswana Ash (Botash) has donated educational equipment valued at more than P760,000 to three schools: Nxakatoe, Madau Junior, and Dukwi.
The donation includes two heavy-duty photocopying machines and notebooks, aimed at easing challenges faced by schools in accessing reliable printing and learning materials. Each photocopying machine is valued at P367,000, underscoring the scale of Botash’s investment in education.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Assistant Minister of Basic Education and Child Welfare, Mr Justine Hunyepa, commended Botash for its community social initiative. He noted that government resources remain under pressure, with schools among the most affected. “Such contributions are vital in enhancing teaching and learning,” he said, emphasizing the importance of partnerships between government and the private sector in supporting education.
Acting Botash Managing Director, Mr Othusitse Seokamo, highlighted that the company’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme prioritizes education. He explained that the initiative is designed to support schools within Botash’s jurisdiction, ensuring that learners benefit from improved access to essential resources.
The donation is expected to help address operational challenges in the schools, particularly in producing teaching materials and supporting administrative functions. By providing modern equipment, Botash aims to strengthen the learning environment and contribute to the broader goal of improving educational outcomes in the region.
The handover reflects Botash’s ongoing commitment to community development and its recognition of education as a cornerstone for future growth.
