BoFiNet Unveils Digital Delta Data Centre to Power Botswana’s Digital Economy. Botswana Fibre Networks (BoFiNet) has taken a major step toward strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure with the internal unveiling of its Digital Delta Data Centre (DDDC). The facility, inspired by the resilience and interconnectedness of the Okavango Delta, is designed as a carrier-neutral hub to anchor Botswana’s digital economy.

The state-of-the-art centre will provide businesses with colocation services ranging from 1U to full racks, private cages, and suites. It also offers redundant power systems, precision cooling, multi-layer physical security, and continuous monitoring — ensuring high reliability for mission-critical operations.

Connectivity is a core feature of the DDDC, with interconnection options that include cross-connects, a meet-me room, and local peering, giving businesses greater choice while keeping traffic within Botswana. Additional services such as structured cabling, migration support, and 24/7 Remote/Smart Hands support aim to simplify operations for enterprises of all sizes.

Acting Commercial Executive, Ms. Marcia Mangadi, said the centre provides “a neutral, secure platform that keeps traffic local, gives interconnect choice, and lets organisations scale with confidence, built in Botswana, for Botswana.”

Technical Executive, Mr. Mpho Koolese, added that the DDDC will be “integral to Botswana’s digital ecosystem, supporting economic revitalisation and data sovereignty.”

Acting CEO, Mr. Keabetswe Segole, praised the milestone, calling it “something unprecedented for this country and certainly for BoFiNet.” The next step is to secure Tier Certification of Constructed Facility from the Uptime Institute before the external launch.
