BITC Roadshow Reaches Jwaneng, Calls for Urgent Action on Business Growth. The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) brought its National Roadshow to Jwaneng this week, convening a high-level engagement with the local business community. Held earlier today, the session featured a series of presentations by BITC and partner institutions aimed at promoting business development and economic diversification in the southern region.

The event included key stakeholders such as Debswana, Naledi Mining Services, the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA), and the Jwaneng Chamber of Commerce. Each organisation shared its mandate and available support programs to foster local business growth.

BITC highlighted its #PushaBW campaign, which continues to gain traction in promoting locally manufactured products since its inception in 2018. The team also emphasized the Botswana Trade Portal—a centralized platform for trade and export information—encouraging businesses to make full use of the resource.

Discussions also covered BITC’s role in attracting domestic investment and creating an enabling environment for enterprises to thrive. LEA outlined its offerings focused on market access, while CEDA addressed funding requirements and support mechanisms available for entrepreneurs.

Debswana and Naledi Mining Services provided updates on their enterprise development initiatives, with Debswana spotlighting progress under its Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme (CEEP).

A highlight of the session was a presentation by Mr. Julius Sebako of the Jwaneng Chamber of Commerce, who emphasized the importance of timely implementation of key projects to sustain the local economy. He called for action in sectors such as agribusiness, meat processing, and manufacturing.

A unifying message throughout the event was the power of collaboration among support agencies and the urgency of converting plans into tangible outcomes to ensure long-term economic vitality in Jwaneng.
