BITC Engages Tsabong District to Boost Local Investment Opportunities. The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) hosted an engagement session with Tsabong’s district leadership and local business community as part of its ongoing National Roadshow. Held at the newly launched Dikukama Executive Hotel, the session focused on identifying potential investment opportunities in the region and strengthening collaboration to promote economic development.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) and the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA), who joined BITC in addressing challenges faced by local entrepreneurs. The aim was to explore how these institutions can work together to support domestic investors and stimulate economic activity in the district.
Ms. Mpho Ntshese, BITC’s Director of Investment Promotion, encouraged entrepreneurs to take full advantage of BITC’s services to enhance their business growth. Her presentation outlined the organisation’s mandate and the various support mechanisms available to the business community.
Mr. Mogakolodi Olefile, Manager of the Trade Portal, highlighted the role of the Botswana Trade Portal in facilitating access to export-related information. He explained that the portal serves as a central hub for trade regulations and procedures, which is critical for local businesses aiming to expand into international markets.
The engagement also featured an overview of the #PushaBW initiative, a campaign that promotes local products and services. The program has contributed to branding efforts, improving market access, and increasing the visibility of Botswana-made goods.
BITC’s National Roadshow continues in Jwaneng on May 8 and in Selebi Phikwe on May 13, with the goal of fostering inclusive growth across Botswana’s districts.
