BITC Board Strengthens Investor Ties with Visit to Tuli Block Enterprises. The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) Board and Management recently conducted official visits to two BITC-supported enterprises in the Tuli Block, reaffirming the organisation’s focus on investor aftercare and economic diversification.

The visits included stopovers at Kwadiwa Ranch Citrus Farm and Limpopo-Lipadi Wildlife Reserve, both of which are contributing to Botswana’s economic development through agriculture and eco-tourism respectively.

Established in 2019, Kwadiwa Ranch Citrus Farm has planted 40 hectares of citrus varieties, including Bennie Valencia oranges, with plans to expand to 100 hectares by 2026. The farm aims to reduce Botswana’s reliance on imported citrus products by scaling local production. While the farm has encountered infrastructure challenges—particularly with road access—its management remains committed to increasing output and entering the domestic market in the near future.

Meanwhile, Limpopo-Lipadi Wildlife Reserve showcases a different model of investment, blending conservation with community development. Spanning 20,500 hectares along the Limpopo River, the reserve is shareholder-owned and home to over 300 bird species and numerous iconic African animals, including the endangered southern white rhinoceros. Limpopo-Lipadi emphasizes sustainable tourism and provides local employment opportunities, strengthening ties between the private sector and surrounding communities.

BITC officials commended both projects for aligning with Botswana’s strategic objectives of economic diversification and sustainable development. These enterprises represent key pillars in building a resilient economy—agriculture for food security and tourism for conservation and job creation.
