BITC and Stanford Seed Network Explore Partnership to Boost Entrepreneurship. The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) has engaged with the De Beers Group Stanford Seed Business Network Botswana Chapter to explore opportunities for collaboration aimed at supporting citizen entrepreneurship and attracting increased investment into Botswana.

The discussions brought together representatives from both organisations to examine how their combined expertise and networks could contribute to the growth of Botswana’s private sector and create more opportunities for local businesses.

During the engagement, Keletsositse Olebile outlined BITC’s mandate and encouraged Stanford Seed alumni to make use of the organisation’s services to expand their businesses.

Olebile said partnerships of this nature play an important role in strengthening local entrepreneurship while using international networks to help attract investment into Botswana.

Also speaking at the meeting, Otsile Mabeo emphasised the importance of collaboration in advancing entrepreneurship development. He said the engagement represents an important step towards jointly supporting and growing Botswana’s business ecosystem.

The Stanford Seed Business Network highlighted the need for stronger support for local enterprises, particularly those operating in rural areas. The network also underscored the value of entrepreneurial networks in helping businesses grow and access new opportunities.

According to the network, it is prepared to work alongside BITC in several areas, including entrepreneur development, policy advocacy, attracting investment and expanding access to international markets.

The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by BITC and the Stanford Seed Business Network Botswana Chapter to identify areas where collaboration can deliver greater support for Botswana’s entrepreneurs.
