BDIH Hosts Ukrainian Embassy Delegation to Strengthen Dialogue on Innovation and Investment. The Botswana Digital and Innovation Hub (BDIH) today hosted a delegation from the Embassy of Ukraine to Botswana, led by His Excellency Dr Oleksiy Syvak, in a visit aimed at strengthening dialogue and exploring areas of mutual interest. The engagement focused on potential collaboration in innovation, investment and sustainable development.

The visit formed part of BDIH’s ongoing efforts to build strategic international relationships that contribute to economic growth, encourage knowledge exchange and support the development of high-impact industries in Botswana. Discussions provided a platform for both parties to share perspectives and identify areas where cooperation could be explored in line with their respective mandates.

The Ukrainian delegation was received by BDIH Board Chairperson Ikanyeng Molemele, Acting Chief Executive Officer Diane Mongudi, and members of the BDIH management team. The engagement allowed BDIH to present its role in Botswana’s innovation ecosystem and its work in supporting entrepreneurs, start-ups and technology-driven initiatives.

According to BDIH, the meeting underscored the importance of international partnerships in advancing innovation-led development and creating opportunities for collaboration across borders. The discussions reflected shared interests in leveraging innovation as a driver for sustainable economic development.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Icon Building, BDIH’s flagship facility. During the tour, the delegation was introduced to the hub’s infrastructure and facilities, as well as its approach to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship within Botswana. The tour provided insight into how BDIH supports innovators through access to resources, networks and a collaborative environment.

The engagement with the Embassy of Ukraine highlights BDIH’s continued focus on engaging with international partners and diplomatic missions as part of its broader strategy to position Botswana as a destination for innovation, investment and collaborative development initiatives.
