BDC Targets P741 Million in Investment Deals by June 2026. The Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) has confirmed that a robust P741 million investment pipeline is on track for closure by June 2026, with an additional P1 billion expected to be finalised by June 2027.
The portfolio spans strategic sectors including mineral beneficiation, ICT, electronics, automotive manufacturing, renewable energy, and infrastructure. These areas are closely aligned with Botswana’s economic diversification ambitions and reflect BDC’s role in driving industrial expansion.
Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, Tiroeaone Ntsima, highlighted that the pipeline includes several flagship projects. Among them is the Milk Valley Farm optimisation initiative, which will involve the procurement of 600 Girolando dairy cattle from Brazil to strengthen local milk production capacity. This project is expected to enhance Botswana’s agricultural output and reduce reliance on imports.
Another major development is the transformation of Lobatse Clay Works into a one-stop building supplies manufacturing facility, positioning it as a key contributor to the construction sector. In tourism, plans are underway for a 150-room Radisson-branded hotel, signalling growing investor confidence in tourism-linked infrastructure and reinforcing Botswana’s appeal as a destination for both business and leisure.
“These transformational projects are positioning BDC at the centre of industrial expansion,” Minister Ntsima said. He added that the scale of the investments demonstrates clear intent, noting that strategic capital deployment has the power to reshape economies.
The upcoming deals underscore BDC’s commitment to supporting Botswana’s long-term growth strategy by investing in projects that create jobs, stimulate innovation, and build sustainable industries. With the pipeline set to close in the coming months, BDC’s role as a catalyst for economic diversification continues to gain momentum.
