The Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) participated in the inaugural Botswana Resource Mobilisation Conference 2026, held today at the Oasis Hotel in Tlokweng. The conference brought together stakeholders from government, civil society and the private sector to strengthen partnerships aimed at sustainable and inclusive national development.
The event served as a platform for dialogue on improving collaboration and resource mobilisation to support development initiatives across Botswana. In line with the conference theme, BDC highlighted its role in contributing to socio-economic development through strategic partnerships and community-focused programmes.
BDC’s Brand and Marketing Manager, Ms. Agodirwe Mapoka, delivered a presentation outlining the Corporation’s Corporate Social Responsibility mandate. She explained how BDC’s CSR initiatives are aligned with national development priorities and are designed to empower communities, promote inclusive growth and support long-term development outcomes. The presentation focused on the importance of coordinated efforts between development partners to ensure that resources are directed toward initiatives with sustainable impact.
Through its participation, BDC reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside government institutions, civil society organisations and private sector partners. The Corporation stated that collaboration remains central to its approach in supporting projects that contribute to economic participation and social development.
The conference was officially opened by the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services and Member of Parliament for Gaborone South, Hon. Ramaotwana Nelson Ramaotwana. In his address, he emphasised the role of development partners and corporate institutions in supporting civil society organisations and strengthening national development efforts.
BDC said its involvement in the conference reflects a shared responsibility to help create an enabling environment for sustainable development in Botswana. The Corporation noted that platforms such as the Resource Mobilisation Conference provide an opportunity to exchange ideas, align objectives and reinforce partnerships that support positive change.
The inaugural conference marked a step toward deeper engagement among stakeholders working to advance inclusive and sustainable development across the country.
