Bayport Botswana Earns Top International Recognition for Client Protection. Bayport Financial Services Botswana has renewed its Gold Level Client Protection Certification from the MicroFinanza Rating Certification Committee, marking continued recognition at the highest level for responsible lending practices.
The Gold Level represents the top achievement within the MFR Client Protection Certification framework. It indicates full alignment with the Universal Standards for Social Performance Management, a set of international guidelines designed to ensure financial institutions treat clients fairly and responsibly.
The renewal confirms that Bayport Botswana continues to meet strict global standards aimed at protecting and empowering customers. The certification process assesses institutions across several areas, including transparency, responsible pricing, fair treatment of clients, data privacy, complaint resolution, and the prevention of over-indebtedness.
Kabo Tladi, Head of Corporate Affairs and ESG at Bayport Financial Services, said the recognition reflects the company’s long standing focus on client wellbeing. Tladi stated that client protection is embedded in the organisation’s culture and influences how products are designed, how clients are engaged, and how business operations are conducted on a daily basis.
Maintaining Gold Level Certification requires institutions not only to meet the standards once, but to demonstrate the ability to uphold them consistently over time. Bayport’s continued recognition signals sustained performance in delivering services that align with internationally accepted client protection principles.
As a payroll based lender operating in Botswana, Bayport says it remains focused on promoting financial wellness by offering responsible access to credit that supports clients’ longer term financial goals.
The company also highlighted the role of the Bayport Academy, an initiative that provides financial literacy education. This programme is aimed at helping clients make informed financial decisions.
Bayport Botswana expressed appreciation to its clients, partners, and employees, noting that their ongoing support contributes to milestones such as this certification renewal.
