Bagaka Ba Pele Exhibition Opens Opportunities for Botswana’s Creative Entrepreneurs. Botswana’s creative sector received a vibrant boost with the launch of the Bagaka Ba Pele Exhibition at Thapong Visual Arts Centre, offering a space where visual artists can honour and reinterpret the legacy of the country’s cultural icons through art.
The launch event, held on Friday, was attended by Ms. Otsetswe K. Koboyankwe, Acting Chief Executive of the National Arts Council of Botswana (NACB), who joined artists and stakeholders in marking the opening of this culturally rich showcase.
The exhibition, which runs until 31 May 2025, is open to the public and features work from both emerging and established artists. Each piece on display reflects a unique artistic perspective on the individuals who have shaped Botswana’s national identity, aiming to inspire conversation and appreciation for the country’s historical and cultural legacy.
For local entrepreneurs in the creative and cultural industries, Bagaka Ba Pele presents an opportunity to connect with audiences, institutions, and potential collaborators. The platform encourages visibility, fosters artistic innovation, and reinforces the role of creative entrepreneurship in nation-building.
Hosted at the well-known Thapong Visual Arts Centre, the exhibition also signals continued support for Botswana’s visual arts ecosystem. It highlights the growing recognition of the arts not just as cultural expression, but also as a contributor to economic activity and job creation.
