Access Bank Botswana Strengthens Education and Financial Literacy Support at Naledi Senior Secondary SSchool. Access Bank Botswana has extended its community outreach efforts through a recent initiative at Naledi Senior Secondary School, combining exam support with practical financial education for learners. The Fairgrounds and Private Banking teams collaborated to provide both essential materials and skills-driven guidance as students entered their examination period.

In response to frequent shortages of stationery in government schools during exam seasons, Access Bank staff raised funds to supply printing paper and various essential materials needed for exam preparation. The contribution aimed to ensure that learners and teachers could focus on academic performance without facing logistical disruptions.

In addition to the material support, the Bank conducted an interactive financial literacy session for Form 5 students. The session covered foundational topics such as saving, budgeting and responsible spending. With many learners preparing to transition into tertiary education or the workforce, the training was designed to equip them with practical tools for managing personal finances.

To reinforce continuous learning, Access Bank helped the school establish a Financial Literacy Club. The club will operate as a peer-learning platform, complemented by periodic mentorship visits from Bank staff volunteers who will guide students through ongoing financial education activities.

Hazel Mahupela, Branch Manager at Fairgrounds, highlighted the importance of the initiative, noting that access to both educational resources and financial knowledge contributes to shaping informed, confident young adults.

The Naledi initiative forms part of Access Bank Botswana’s broader commitment to youth empowerment. Earlier engagements included financial literacy sessions at Botswana Accountancy College, promoting disciplined money management among tertiary students. The Bank also participated in the FIA 10KM Walk & Exhibition in Francistown, an event focused on raising awareness about ethical financial behaviour and discouraging youth involvement in financial crimes.

The Bank’s continued involvement in youth-focused programmes underscores its dedication to fostering financially responsible communities across Botswana.
