Botswana Summit to Examine Corporate Corruption, AI and Boardroom Accountability. Botswana will host the 5th Corporate Governance Summit 2026 from November 11 to 13, bringing together governance professionals, business leaders, policymakers and experts from across the region to discuss ethical leadership and accountability in organisations.

The summit will take place at Cresta Mowana in Kasane under the theme, “Redefining Ethical Headship: Overcoming Corporate Rot and Building an Organisational Culture Entrenched in Integrity.”

The three-day event will focus on challenges affecting corporate governance, with discussions examining corruption, institutional accountability and the role of technology in boardroom decision-making.

Among the topics scheduled for discussion are Technology, AI and Cybersecurity at Board Level, as well as Governance in Africa: The Kleptocracy Problem. These sessions will bring together local and international experts to share perspectives on the governance risks facing organisations and the importance of ethical leadership in corporate institutions.

The focus on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity also places technology among the issues that corporate boards will examine during the summit. The discussions will consider these subjects from a board-level governance perspective.

Meanwhile, the session on governance in Africa will address the problem of kleptocracy, alongside broader questions surrounding institutional accountability and ethical leadership.

The summit is expected to provide a platform for participants from different sectors to exchange ideas and discuss approaches to strengthening governance practices.

Its programme will centre on how organisations can promote transparency, establish cultures of integrity and strengthen accountability within their leadership structures. The 2026 gathering marks the fifth edition of the Corporate Governance Summit, continuing the platform’s focus on corporate leadership and governance issues.
