Goo-Moremi Gorge in Botswana’s Tswapong Hills is being highlighted as a destination for nature-based tourism, offering visitors opportunities to explore waterfalls, historical rock paintings and wildlife while supporting community-based tourism and heritage conservation.

Goo-Moremi Resort, a joint venture between the Moremi-Mannonye Community Trust (MMCT) and the Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO), combines tourism activities with an emphasis on conserving the area’s natural and cultural heritage.

The gorge also offers opportunities to observe Cape Vultures soaring above its cliffs, providing another attraction for visitors interested in wildlife and birdlife.

The Botswana Tourism Organisation has highlighted the destination through a promotional campaign featuring Huawei’s Pura smartphone series. The campaign encourages visitors to discover Botswana’s landscapes and attractions through photography, using the device’s camera capabilities to capture the scenery.

The initiative places Goo-Moremi among the country’s natural destinations being promoted to potential visitors, while drawing attention to the role of community partnerships in tourism development.

Through its joint venture structure, Goo-Moremi Resort brings together the Moremi-Mannonye Community Trust and the national tourism organisation. The partnership reflects the involvement of community and tourism stakeholders in presenting the destination to visitors.

The range of activities available at the gorge includes outdoor recreation, wildlife observation and opportunities to explore historical features of the surrounding landscape.

Te destination’s combination of natural scenery and cultural heritage provides visitors with several ways to experience the Tswapong Hills.

The promotional campaign invites travellers to plan visits to Goo-Moremi Gorge and explore its waterfalls, cliffs, wildlife and rock paintings.
