London Jewelers Owners Visit Botswana as US Retailer Celebrates 100 Years. The Udell family, owners of United States-based luxury jewellery and watch retailer London Jewelers, has visited Botswana as the company marks its 100th year in business.

The visit included a trip to Orapa Mine alongside the Klein family, providing an opportunity for the two families to gain first-hand insight into Botswana’s natural diamond industry and the journey of diamonds from mining to the market.

London Jewelers is a fourth-generation luxury jewellery and watch retailer in the United States. The Klein family operates Grandview Klein Diamonds, a fourth-generation diamond manufacturing business specialising in the sourcing, cutting and polishing of natural diamonds.

The Klein family also has manufacturing operations in Botswana, establishing a connection between the family business and the country’s diamond industry.

The visit took place as London Jewelers celebrates its centenary, marking 100 years since the company’s establishment.

The engagement also highlighted the relationships connecting international jewellery businesses with Botswana’s natural diamond industry.

During the visit to Orapa Mine, the Udell and Klein families were able to see aspects of Botswana’s diamond production and gain insight into the journey of natural diamonds from the country’s mining operations to the international market.

The presence of the two families also brought together businesses with longstanding involvement in different parts of the diamond value chain.
