Bolux Seeks Approval to Acquire Pie City Equipment. Bolux Group has formally applied for approval to acquire manufacturing equipment and other movable assets from Pie City and Brangus Botswana, in a move aimed at expanding its production operations in Botswana.
According to a notice issued by the Competition and Consumer Authority (CCA), the proposed transaction would enable Bolux to establish manufacturing operations at Plot 62 in the Gaborone International Commerce Park.
Bolux is one of Botswana’s leading food producers, known for brands such as A1 Super Maize Meal, Snowwhite Flour, and GO Bread. The company currently operates its main manufacturing facility in Ramotswa, with depots in Francistown, Palapye, and Maun.
Pie City manufactures confectionery pies, pizzas, fruit juices, and related products, while Brangus Botswana operates primarily as a property holding company. The acquisition relates specifically to movable manufacturing assets, plant, and equipment owned by the two companies, rather than their broader operations.
The CCA has invited stakeholders and members of the public to submit comments supporting or opposing the proposed acquisition within 10 days of the publication of the merger notice. This consultation process forms part of the Authority’s mandate to ensure fair competition and protect consumer interests in Botswana’s markets.
