Botswana Stock Exchange Hits Record Turnover of P1.45 Billion. The Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) has recorded its highest single-day turnover of 2026, with trades worth P1.45 billion executed across the market on Tuesday.

The bulk of the activity came from the equity market, which accounted for P1.35 billion, while Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) contributed P103.2 million. The milestone underscores growing investor confidence in Botswana’s capital markets and demonstrates the exchange’s capacity to handle large transactions from both local and international investors.

BSE Chief Executive Officer, Aupa Monyatsi, described the achievement as a reflection of the increasing maturity and strength of Botswana’s capital market. He noted that higher liquidity improves investor confidence and provides companies with greater opportunities to raise capital for growth.

The record turnover comes as the BSE continues to expand its product offerings and deepen market participation. The exchange has emphasised its commitment to developing new investment instruments, strengthening partnerships with market participants, and enhancing Botswana’s position as an attractive investment destination in Africa.
