Twin Brothers Drive Agricultural Growth Through Kosams FFarm. Twin brothers Larona and Lesego Molebalwa, both aged 33, have built a thriving horticulture enterprise in Lerala village’s Taukome lands, demonstrating how determination and innovation can transform agriculture into a sustainable livelihood.
Operating for the past four years, their business, Kosams Farm, produces a wide variety of vegetables including butternut, beetroot, tomatoes, green peppers, and other crops. Their produce is primarily supplied to street vendors in the Tswapong area, with additional distribution reaching surrounding towns such as Serowe, Palapye, and Selebi-Phikwe. This network ensures that fresh, locally grown vegetables are accessible to communities across the region.
The brothers’ 13-hectare farm is powered entirely by solar energy, supported by two boreholes with a combined water storage capacity of 10 cubic metres. This infrastructure enables year-round production, reducing reliance on seasonal rainfall and reinforcing the farm’s resilience against climate challenges.

Larona and Lesego’s journey reflects a passion for agriculture and a commitment to overcoming obstacles in the sector. Their vision is to establish themselves among Botswana’s leading horticulture farmers, while contributing meaningfully to the country’s food security efforts. By producing fresh, high-quality vegetables, they are not only meeting local demand but also strengthening Botswana’s agricultural value chain.
Kosams Farm stands as a testament to the role of youth in driving agricultural innovation and sustainability. The Molebalwa brothers’ success story highlights how small-scale farming, when powered by renewable energy and determination, can create jobs, support communities, and inspire others to pursue opportunities in agriculture.
