BPC CEO Cycle Challenge Drives Community Impact. The Botswana Power Corporation (BPC), led by CEO David Kgoboko, hosted the CEO Cycle Challenge under the banner #ridingforacourse, an initiative designed to create positive impact and empower communities.

The annual event has become a platform for combining sport with social responsibility, channeling proceeds toward projects that uplift local communities. Last year’s edition enabled BPC to donate a 5.5kW solar-powered borehole to the Mogobane Inclusive Centre, a facility dedicated to supporting community development.

The borehole has transformed operations at the centre, providing reliable water supply for irrigation of its vegetable garden. This has boosted food production for both consumption and sale, promoting greater self-sufficiency and sustainability. By integrating renewable energy solutions, the project also highlights BPC’s commitment to advancing green technologies while addressing community needs.

Kgoboko’s participation in the challenge underscores the corporation’s leadership in aligning corporate initiatives with social impact. The event reflects BPC’s broader mission of ensuring that its operations extend beyond electricity supply to include meaningful contributions to national development.

The success of the borehole project demonstrates how targeted interventions can empower communities, enhance food security, and create opportunities for economic participation. It also illustrates the potential of renewable energy in supporting sustainable livelihoods.

As preparations continue for future editions of the CEO Cycle Challenge, BPC remains focused on expanding its reach and ensuring that proceeds continue to support impactful projects. The initiative has become a symbol of how corporate leadership can drive change, combining physical endurance with a commitment to community empowerment.

The corporation reaffirmed its dedication to initiatives that foster sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity, ensuring that the benefits of its work extend to the communities it serves.
