Brand Botswana Rallies Stakeholders Behind SportForAll Campaign and Global Congress Bid. Brand Botswana has intensified its stakeholder engagement efforts by hosting a collaborative session with the Botswana National Sport Commission, bringing together representatives from across sectors to support upcoming national and international initiatives.
The engagement took place at Brand Botswana’s head office in the Central Business District, where participants from the private sector, public institutions, and non-governmental organisations gathered to discuss opportunities within the SportForAll campaign and preparations for the TAFISA World Congress 2027.
The session focused on informing stakeholders about the objectives of the campaign while encouraging broader participation and alignment. It also served as a platform to build momentum ahead of the global congress, which is scheduled to be hosted in Gaborone in October 2027.
Attendees were introduced to the work of TAFISA, gaining insights into its international programmes and how they connect communities through sport and physical activity. The discussions explored how Botswana could leverage the congress to advance development goals at both local and national levels.
Among the key themes highlighted was the potential economic impact of hosting a global event of this scale, alongside its role in promoting healthier lifestyles. Conversations also touched on how sport initiatives can contribute to addressing non-communicable diseases and supporting long-term public health objectives.
In addition, stakeholders examined how the congress could influence policy development related to sport, wellness, and community engagement. The session underscored the importance of coordinated efforts between institutions to maximise the benefits associated with hosting international events.
The engagement forms part of Brand Botswana’s ongoing strategy to strengthen partnerships and ensure that national initiatives are supported by a broad base of stakeholders. Further engagements are expected as preparations for the congress continue.
