President Boko Embarks on Working Visits to France and Spain. President Advocate Duma Boko has departed for France and Spain on official working visits, beginning with participation in the One Health Summit in France on April 7, which coincides with World Health Day.

The summit will convene global leaders, scientists, and stakeholders to address interconnected health challenges across humans, animals, plants, and ecosystems. Discussions will focus on shared threats such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, sustainable food systems, and pollution exposure. The event aims to promote action-oriented multilateralism, accelerate commitments under the One Health framework, and strengthen health and surveillance systems worldwide.

Following the summit, President Boko will travel to Spain on April 9 to advance Botswana’s economic diplomacy drive and enhance bilateral cooperation. During the visit, he is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez Perez-Castejon, with discussions expected to center on strengthening ties and exploring new avenues of collaboration between the two nations.

President Boko is accompanied by a delegation that includes Dr. Phenyo Butale, Dr. Stephen Modise, and Dr. Edwin Dikoloti, along with other senior government officials. Their presence underscores the importance of both the health-focused summit and the bilateral engagements in Spain.
