BITC and SEZA Showcase Chobe Investment Opportunities. The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) joined forces with the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) on a familiarisation tour of key infrastructure in the Chobe region, highlighting investment opportunities for delegates and prospective investors.

The tour, which formed part of the inaugural Chobe Connect event, was attended by BITC Board Member Mr. Tebo Motswagae and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Keletsositse Olebile. Delegates visited the Pandamatenga Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the Kazungula Bridge, and the One-Stop Border Facility, gaining first-hand insights into the region’s strategic assets.

For BITC, the engagement provided an opportunity to identify priority investment areas and to interact with companies currently supported by the Centre in the region. The initiative reflects BITC’s mandate to promote Botswana as a competitive investment destination, while SEZA continues to position special economic zones as catalysts for industrial growth and regional trade.

The Pandamatenga SEZ is seen as a hub for agricultural and agro-processing ventures, while the Kazungula Bridge and One-Stop Border Facility serve as critical gateways for cross-border trade, connecting Botswana to regional markets. Together, these assets underscore Chobe’s potential as a driver of economic diversification and international commerce

Delegates noted that the tour offered valuable exposure to the infrastructure and opportunities available, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between government agencies, investors, and local enterprises.

The Chobe Connect event aims to strengthen partnerships and attract investment that supports sustainable growth in the region. By showcasing strategic projects and facilities, BITC and SEZA are working to ensure that Botswana’s northern corridor becomes a focal point for trade, industry, and development.
