Chobe Connect Conference Highlights Investment and Economic Transformation. The Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA), in partnership with First National Bank Botswana (FNBB), has officially launched the Chobe Connect Investment Conference, a two-day event designed to strengthen Botswana’s economic transformation agenda.
The conference was inaugurated by Vice President Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe and attended by senior government officials, private sector leaders, and development stakeholders. The gathering serves as a strategic platform to address Botswana’s key development priorities, including economic diversification, private sector-led growth, regional integration, and the execution of the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme (BETP).
In his opening remarks, Vice President Gaolathe emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and business in driving sustainable growth. He noted that Botswana’s long-term competitiveness depends on creating an enabling environment for investment, innovation, and cross-border trade.
SEZA highlighted the role of Special Economic Zones in attracting investment and fostering industrial development, while FNBB underscored the importance of financial partnerships in unlocking opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses. Together, the two institutions positioned Chobe Connect as a catalyst for dialogue and action, aligning national strategies with regional and global economic trends.
The conference agenda includes discussions on investment opportunities, infrastructure development, and the role of technology in advancing Botswana’s economic transformation. Stakeholders are also expected to explore ways to strengthen regional integration, particularly through trade and logistics, positioning Botswana as a competitive hub in Southern Africa.
By convening diverse stakeholders, Chobe Connect aims to build momentum for Botswana’s economic diversification efforts, ensuring that growth is inclusive and sustainable. The event reflects a shared commitment to transforming Botswana’s economy through innovation, partnerships, and strategic investment
