BOCRA and BDIH Launch Web Development Hackathon to Drive Innovation. The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA), in partnership with the Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub (BDIH), has announced the launch of the Web Development Hackathon, inviting local developers and innovators to showcase their skills and creativity.

The hackathon provides participants with an opportunity to test their abilities, challenge their imagination, and build innovative digital solutions alongside like-minded creators. Organizers highlighted that the initiative is designed to encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and the development of practical tools that can contribute to Botswana’s growing digital economy.

Participants stand a chance to win exciting prizes, including a development contract, cash rewards, and internet service support. These incentives aim to motivate developers to push boundaries while offering tangible opportunities to advance their careers and projects.

BOCRA emphasized that the hackathon is part of its broader commitment to fostering digital innovation and supporting the growth of Botswana’s technology ecosystem. By partnering with BDIH, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity, ensuring that local developers are empowered to contribute to the country’s digital transformation journey.
