SEZA Launches Chobe Connect 2026 to Drive Regional Investment. The Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) has unveiled Chobe Connect 2026, a high-level investor forum aimed at unlocking strategic investment opportunities and accelerating infrastructure development in the Chobe region.
The initiative was announced by Acting Chief Executive Officer Tapiwa Masie, who described the platform as a catalyst for mobilising capital and partnerships to strengthen regional competitiveness and support economic diversification. Scheduled for 30–31 March 2026 at the Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa, the forum will bring together government officials, investors, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to assess opportunities in the Pandamatenga Special Economic Zone and the Kasane–Kazungula redevelopment corridor.
Key discussions will focus on bankable projects across transport logistics, water systems, energy infrastructure, and tourism development. These sectors are viewed as critical enablers of long-term growth in the district. Masie emphasised that infrastructure investment is fundamental to unlocking productivity and positioning Chobe as a strategic gateway for trade and tourism in the region.
She noted that the forum will highlight commercially viable projects capable of generating employment, expanding agricultural production in Pandamatenga, and strengthening Botswana’s tourism value chain. In preparation for the event, SEZA leadership has already briefed the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on the conference framework and expected outcomes, ensuring alignment between infrastructure planning and investment promotion.
Organisers believe Chobe Connect 2026 will position the Chobe District as an emerging investment hub, advancing infrastructure-led growth within Botswana’s special economic zones framework. By convening diverse stakeholders, the forum is expected to create momentum for sustainable development and reinforce Botswana’s role as a competitive destination for regional and international investment.
