Vice President Endorses Dichaba Group’s Innovation Drive. Vice President Ndaba Gaolathe has pledged government support to Dichaba Group Operations, following a tour of the company’s facilities earlier today. The visit was aimed at gaining first-hand insight into the company’s work and exploring opportunities for collaboration between the public and private sectors.
During the engagement, Gaolathe commended the company’s initiatives, praising the team’s enthusiasm, vision, and expertise. He highlighted their strong commitment to community development and offered access to free government consultancy services, encouraging the company to make full use of available resources. The Vice President emphasized that government is determined to support Batswana-led enterprises in achieving success at the highest levels.
Dichaba Group Operations is a local manufacturer specializing in a wide range of electronic products under its Ditec brand, including laptops, mobile phones, and refrigerators. The company has also set its sights on future innovation, with ambitions to produce electric vehicles under the Caleb Motors brand.
Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer Thatayaone Dichaba noted that the company’s products are already gaining traction beyond Botswana’s borders, with exports reaching markets in Mozambique and Zimbabwe. He expressed optimism that with government support, the company could expand further and contribute more significantly to regional industrial growth.
The Vice President’s visit underscores the importance of fostering partnerships between government and private enterprises to drive economic diversification and industrial development. By supporting companies like Dichaba Group, the government aims to strengthen local manufacturing capacity, create jobs, and enhance Botswana’s competitiveness in technology and innovation.
The engagement reflects a broader national vision of empowering homegrown businesses to scale sustainably, while positioning Botswana as a hub for advanced manufacturing and export-driven growth.
