FNBB Foundation Renovates Children’s Library in Ramotswa. The First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) Foundation has handed over a newly renovated children’s library at the Ramotswa Public Library, marking a significant investment in literacy and education. The project included the refurbishment of the facility and the provision of children’s furniture and learning materials, creating a modern and child-friendly environment.

Speaking at the handover ceremony on Wednesday, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Employment and Productivity in the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs, Ms Tshepo Nkwadi, highlighted the importance of the donation. She noted that the upgraded space would enhance learning opportunities, promote literacy, and provide a safe environment that encourages lifelong learning among children.

FNBB Foundation Manager, Ms Atang Mbikiwa, emphasized the bank’s long-standing commitment to community development. She explained that since its establishment, the foundation has disbursed over P89 million towards corporate social responsibility initiatives. “Each year, one per cent of FNBB’s after-tax profits is allocated to the foundation, ensuring that we continue to support projects that uplift communities,” she said.

Head of RMB Operations, Ms Comfort Mooketsi, described the gesture as an inspiration to future generations. She added that the initiative was aimed at improving the teaching and learning environment, thereby contributing to the broader goal of educational empowerment.

The renovated children’s library is expected to serve as a vital resource for the Ramotswa community, offering young learners access to materials and facilities that support their academic and personal growth. The project reflects FNBB’s broader vision of driving inclusive development and investing in initiatives that create lasting impact.
