Sese Village to Develop P25 Million Commercial Centre Through Public–Private Partnership. A P25 million commercial centre is set to be developed in Sese following a partnership between the Sese Village Development Committee (VDC), Mabutsane District Council and FAR Property.

The project is being implemented under a 25-year agreement between the parties and was officially launched with a groundbreaking ceremony held today. The development marks a significant infrastructure investment aimed at expanding commercial activity within the village.

According to information shared at the ceremony, the commercial centre is expected to be completed within seven months. Once finished, the facility will accommodate a range of services, including a supermarket, a filling station and a post office. Additional facilities are also planned as part of the development.

The partnership reflects a collaborative approach between local leadership, government structures and the private sector in delivering infrastructure projects at village level. The Sese Village Development Committee, working through the Mabutsane District Council, is providing the platform for the development, while FAR Property is responsible for the construction and development of the centre.

The commercial centre is expected to enhance access to essential services for residents of Sese and surrounding areas. By bringing multiple services into one location, the development is anticipated to reduce the need for residents to travel long distances to access basic commercial and postal services.

The project also signals growing private sector involvement in rural and semi-rural developments through long-term lease agreements with local authorities. No further details were provided regarding tenant timelines or operational dates for the planned facilities.

The Sese commercial centre forms part of ongoing efforts to promote local economic activity and service delivery through infrastructure development. With construction now underway, the project is set to become a new commercial hub within the village once completed later this year.
