Bijoux Africa Group Steps Forward with Botswana Inspired Sneaker Brand. A Botswana founded footwear brand is carving out space in the premium sneaker market with designs rooted in culture, craftsmanship and modern identity. Bijoux Africa Group was established four years ago by Katso Masilo at the age of 22 to meet what he described as a growing demand for footwear that reflects African identity without compromising on quality or design.
Launched in April 2022 in Botswana, Bijoux positions itself as an ultramodern sneaker brand focused on excellence. The company says its broader purpose is to build a network of pioneers, dreamers and future makers while contributing to a stronger global narrative about Africa through design and creativity. The brand presents itself as a locally grounded yet globally competitive alternative in the footwear space.

Design plays a central role in the company’s identity. Some of Bijoux’s creations draw direct inspiration from Botswana’s natural landscapes. Its recently launched Delta Walk design, inspired by the Okavango Delta, combines pebbled blue leather with warm brown tones. According to the brand, these elements are meant to reflect the water, sand and earth associated with the delta, turning footwear into what it describes as wearable art.
Beyond product design, Bijoux Africa Group has also aligned itself with social initiatives. The company highlights partnerships with initiatives linked to UNICEF Botswana as part of its commitment to creating impact alongside business growth.
Bijoux says its footwear is aimed at consumers who appreciate authenticity, craftsmanship and subtle distinction. Through its approach, the brand seeks to demonstrate that homegrown African labels can compete on a global stage by combining purpose, design and execution.
