Engen Botswana Names Ravi Kara to Board of Directors. Engen Botswana Limited has announced the appointment of Ravi Ishwar Bhoodia Kara to its Board of Directors, effective 01 January 2026. The appointment remains subject to shareholder approval at the company’s next Annual General Meeting.

Kara currently serves as Finance Head: Commercial at Engen Petroleum in South Africa. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he brings financial and commercial experience developed through a series of senior roles within the Engen group.

According to information released by the company, Kara has previously held positions including Enterprise Performance Manager at Engen Petroleum. He also served as Financial Services Manager for Engen’s international business, where he oversaw operations across 15 countries.

Beyond his responsibilities in South Africa, Kara holds several board positions within the Engen network. He is the Chairman of the Board of Engen Eswatini and a Board Member of Engen Lesotho. He has also previously served as a Board Member for Engen DRC and Engen Mauritius.

Engen describes Kara as a senior manager in the oil and gas sector with a strong financial and commercial background. In addition to his accounting qualification, he has completed a number of executive education programmes and recently graduated from Duke Corporate Education.

His appointment to the Engen Botswana board adds to his regional leadership portfolio within the Engen group. The company indicated that his industry knowledge and experience in financial management position him to contribute to the board’s oversight responsibilities.The appointment will be formalised following the required shareholder approval process at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
