Botswana Steps Up Global Investor Engagement at Davos Forum. Botswana has expanded its investment outreach at the World Economic Forum Annual Meetings in Davos, Switzerland, with a focus on advancing the country’s Economic Transformation Agenda through direct engagement with global partners.

Minister Tiroeaone Ntsima has taken part in a series of high level, closed strategic sessions during WEF 2026, alongside bilateral meetings with selected private sector stakeholders. These engagements form part of Botswana’s broader effort to strengthen relationships with international investors and move discussions toward concrete opportunities.

A key element of the delegation’s programme has been follow up talks with investors first engaged at previous WEF gatherings. The aim of these discussions is to progress existing investment pipelines, deepen partnerships, and support the transition from dialogue to projects considered commercially viable. Officials say this reflects a deliberate approach focused on investor retention and the conversion of interest into tangible outcomes.

Ntsima also joined strategic dialogue platforms convened by the World Economic Forum and attended by several Heads of State. These sessions placed Botswana within wider global policy and investment conversations taking place at the forum.

In addition, the minister met with the management of the Swiss Africa Business Circle and participated in engagements under the Africa Collective Health Circle. During these discussions, he delivered an input statement aligned with Botswana’s Health Transformation Strategy, outlining areas where collaboration with private healthcare partners could be explored. He also referenced the role that global pharmaceutical companies, including Novartis, can play in healthcare innovation, improved access, and capacity development.

Further meetings included talks with an investor identified during a previous WEF interaction. The session was framed as part of government efforts to turn international engagements into measurable economic activity linked to national development priorities.
