Bona Life Partners With Excel Golf Academy to Bring Free Golf Training to Maruapula Youth. Bona Life has launched a new community initiative aimed at expanding youth access to sport by partnering with Excel Golf Academy to offer free golf training to children in Maruapula. The programme, which is providing coaching to about 100 young participants, reflects a growing effort to introduce the sport to communities that have historically had limited exposure to golf development opportunities.
During the announcement, Bona Life CEO Phatsimo Keakabetse emphasised the value of sport in shaping young people. Keakabetse highlighted that golf, in particular, nurtures discipline, patience, and character — qualities that benefit children both on and off the course. She noted that exposing young learners to structured coaching environments can play an important role in guiding their personal growth.
Excel Golf Academy is facilitating the hands-on training sessions, offering children an introduction to golfing fundamentals, including posture, grip, swing basics, and course behaviour. The academy’s involvement ensures that participants receive high-quality instruction while also being encouraged to view golf as an accessible and inclusive sport.
Parents in the community have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a rare opportunity for children to explore a skillset that is not always within reach. The training sessions also provide a safe and constructive space where young people can build confidence, develop focus, and interact with peers in a positive environment.
Bona Life stated that supporting youth empowerment programmes remains a core priority, and partnerships with specialised organisations such as Excel Golf Academy form an important part of that commitment. While the initiative focuses on early skills development, it may also spark long-term interest in the sport among participants.
With over 100 children already benefiting from the programme, the partnership stands as a practical investment in community development and youth upliftment, bringing structured sporting opportunities closer to local families.
