Botswana Hosts Landmark Future of Mining Summit 2025. The Future of Mining Summit 2025, held from 16 to 17 June at Boipuso Hall, Fairgrounds Holdings in Gaborone, marked a milestone for Botswana’s mining sector. The summit brought together a record 900 mining and business leaders from across the region, making it the country’s largest mining conference to date.

The two-day event featured over 26 CEOs from leading companies as speakers, providing insights into industry trends, technological innovation, and investment opportunities. Attendees were also able to engage with more than 100 exhibitors showcasing solutions and innovations shaping the future of mining in Botswana and the broader Southern African region.

The summit served as a platform for entrepreneurs, investors, and industry stakeholders to explore collaborations, share knowledge, and identify strategies to drive growth within the mining sector. Participants highlighted the value of networking with both regional and international leaders, and the opportunities for private-sector businesses to expand their presence and influence in mining-related ventures.

Organizers have already announced that the next Future of Mining Summit, scheduled for June 2026, aims to expand significantly. Expectations include over 2,500 mining leaders, more than 800 international delegates, over 200 exhibiting companies, and 40 CEOs participating as speakers. The event is set to continue fostering connections between private enterprises and the mining industry while promoting innovation and sustainable business practices.
