Popular Francistown-based caterer Chef Delu has warmed hearts after cooking for free at a wedding in Hobona village this past weekend — a heartfelt gesture to thank the community and supporters who have stood by his journey.
The event, attended by over 300 guests, was fully catered by Chef Delu Catering, a 100% youth-owned business known for its quality service and creative menus. True to his word, the chef provided all meals at no charge, describing the initiative as his way of giving back to those who believed in him from the beginning.
“This was my way of saying thank you to everyone who has believed in me and my work. Cooking for others brings me joy,” said Chef Delu.
He added that the gesture reflected his passion for uplifting and celebrating local communities through food. The event also showcased how Botswana’s young entrepreneurs are increasingly embracing community-driven business values — blending success with social impact.
Attendees praised the initiative, noting that Chef Delu’s act of kindness not only fed hundreds but also inspired fellow youth to use their talents to give back.
