Vice President Gaolathe Champions Botswana’s Investment Vision at AFSIC 2025. Botswana’s Vice President and Minister of Finance, Mr. Ndaba N. Gaolathe, led a strong national delegation to the AFSIC 2025 conference, reinforcing the country’s commitment to attracting sustainable investments and strategic partnerships. The delegation included the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), the Botswana High Commission, and the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE).

During the two-day summit, Vice President Gaolathe presented 14 bankable projects under the Botswana Economic Transformation Plan (BETP) to a high-level audience of global investors. His presentation, delivered at the Botswana Country Summit themed “The Botswana Deal Room,” focused on unlocking new investment channels across key sectors.

Following his address, Ms. Naledi Madala from the Ministry of Finance led a panel discussion that expanded on the BETP’s objectives and outlined Botswana’s strategies for addressing structural economic challenges through policy reforms and private sector collaboration.

BSE CEO, Mr. Aupa Monyatsi, discussed Botswana’s growing position as a strategic financial gateway for dual listings. He highlighted opportunities for collaboration with major international exchanges including the London Stock Exchange, Euronext, and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), aimed at attracting new capital inflows and enhancing visibility for Botswana’s listed entities.

BITC’s Director of International Business, Ms. Malebogo Kote, promoted Botswana’s appeal as a financial services hub under the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) framework, emphasizing the country’s stability, regulatory strength, and competitive investment climate.

Botswana’s delegation also featured private sector representatives and parastatal project promoters, including the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB), who participated in quickfire pitch sessions and bilateral meetings. One key engagement was held with Mauritius’ delegation led by Dr. Jyoti Jeetun, Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning, exploring potential collaboration in financial and investment services.
