Botswana Innovators Set to Launch ‘ImpressUs’ App to Empower Local Creators. A new chapter in Botswana’s digital innovation landscape is unfolding with the upcoming launch of ImpressUs, a locally developed app that aims to help creators monetise their talent and creativity. The app, built by young Batswana innovators, is set to officially launch on 8 October 2025, introducing a homegrown solution to a challenge many local creatives have long faced — earning sustainable income from digital content.

ImpressUs offers a simple but powerful concept: every day, the content creator whose post receives the most likes wins P1,000, turning engagement into real earnings. The platform not only motivates creators to produce quality content but also promotes consistent participation, collaboration, and competition within Botswana’s fast-growing digital community.

The initiative represents a significant stride toward empowering youth and strengthening Botswana’s creative economy. It aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to support innovation and entrepreneurship through technology-driven solutions. The Ministry of Sports and Arts (MoSA) has expressed strong support for the app, applauding the developers for their forward-thinking approach

Minister Kelebeng commended the innovation, encouraging Batswana to embrace and support locally built digital platforms. The Minister further noted that MoSA continues to engage global technology platforms such as TikTok and Google to explore more monetisation opportunities for local artists and content creators.

For Botswana’s entrepreneurs and businesses, ImpressUs represents more than just an app—it is an example of how local innovation can create meaningful economic participation, open new digital markets, and position the country as a player in Africa’s creative tech scene.
