BTC Announces Temporary Retail Store Closures for Independence Holidays. Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTC) has announced the temporary closure of its retail stores during the upcoming Independence Holidays. The company confirmed that all BTC shops nationwide will remain closed from Monday, 29 September, to Wednesday, 1 October 2025.
In a notice to customers and the public, BTC stated that normal operations will resume on Thursday, 2 October 2025. The telecommunications provider emphasized that this adjustment is part of its holiday schedule and urged customers to plan their visits and transactions accordingly.
An exception has been made for the Maun retail store, which will remain open on Monday and Tuesday during the holidays. The store will operate on reduced hours, serving customers from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. This move is expected to cater to residents and businesses in Maun who may require in-person assistance during the holiday period.
BTC encouraged customers to make use of its digital platforms and self-service options for bill payments, airtime purchases, and other essential services while physical stores are closed. The company reassured its clients that its network and customer care services will remain active to ensure continued connectivity throughout the holidays.
For Botswana’s business community, the announcement highlights the growing importance of digital transactions and online service channels. With increasing reliance on telecommunications infrastructure for day-to-day operations, BTC’s reminder serves as a call for businesses to take advantage of digital tools for uninterrupted service during public holidays.
As one of Botswana’s leading telecommunications companies, BTC continues to align its services with customer needs while observing national holiday schedules. Customers across the country are encouraged to plan ahead and leverage BTC’s digital services to stay connected during the Independence Holidays.
