President Boko Invites Aliko Dangote to Headline Global Expo 2025. President Advocate Duma Boko has extended an invitation to Aliko Dangote, Nigerian billionaire, industrialist, and Africa’s richest man, to headline Global Expo 2025, Botswana’s flagship international business exhibition.

The 18th edition of the Expo, scheduled for 8–11 October 2025, is organised by the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) on behalf of the Government of Botswana. It is set to feature fresh initiatives aimed at strengthening trade and investment linkages while showcasing Botswana’s competitiveness on the global stage.

A key highlight of this year’s programme will be the launch of the Pula Investment Conference, which will convene a high-level mix of investors, development finance institutions, and project sponsors. The conference aligns with Botswana’s Economic Transformation Programme, emphasising the diversification of the economy, unlocking industrialisation, and promoting large-scale investments.

President Boko, accompanied by BITC Chief Executive Officer Keletsositse Olebile, met Dangote in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly to personally extend the invitation. The engagement reflects Botswana’s proactive approach to positioning itself as a competitive investment hub in Africa.

For local entrepreneurs and businesses, the presence of global industry leaders such as Dangote at the Expo could open doors to partnerships, technology transfer, and market access opportunities. Global Expo 2025 is expected to draw exhibitors and buyers from multiple sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, finance, mining, energy, and the creative industries.
