NextGen Tourism Business Expo 2025 to Spotlight Startup Opportunities in Botswana. The upcoming NextGen Tourism Business Expo 2025 is set to place tourism entrepreneurs and small-scale operators at the centre of Botswana’s growth agenda. Scheduled for 2 October 2025 at the Protea Hotel by Marriott, Gaborone, the event will gather innovators, policymakers, and business leaders under the theme “Tourism as a Catalyst for Economic Inclusion: Government’s Pledge in Empowering Tourism Startups and Small-Scale Operators.”

The Minister of Environment and Tourism, Hon. Wynter Mmolotsi, will deliver the keynote address, highlighting government’s commitment to unlocking opportunities for startups and entrepreneurs in the tourism value chain. His address is expected to emphasise how targeted support and inclusive policies can help small operators compete, scale, and contribute to Botswana’s diversified economy.

The expo offers a platform for tourism startups to showcase innovative products and services, explore financing avenues, and forge meaningful partnerships with established players. Entrepreneurs will also have access to panel discussions, networking sessions, and insights on emerging trends that are reshaping the sector, from eco-tourism and cultural tourism to digital booking platforms.

For Botswana’s business community, the event underscores the tourism sector’s potential as a driver of inclusive economic participation. By empowering small-scale operators and youth-led ventures, the sector can expand beyond traditional markets, attract investment, and create sustainable employment opportunities.

As Botswana looks to harness its natural heritage and cultural assets, platforms such as the NextGen Tourism Business Expo 2025 are pivotal in ensuring that the benefits of growth are widely shared.
