ARIPO Launches 50th Anniversary Logo Design Competition. The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) has announced the launch of its official ARIPO@50 Logo Design Competition, inviting entries from citizens of its 22 Member States, including Botswana.

The competition provides an opportunity for designers, artists, and creative entrepreneurs to showcase their talent by creating a logo that embodies three central themes: 50 years of ARIPO’s legacy, African unity and collaboration, and innovation and creativity.

The winning designer will receive a cash prize of USD 1,000, and their work will become the official emblem of ARIPO’s 50th anniversary celebrations. The competition closes on 30 September 2025, and full details are available on ARIPO’s official platforms.

For Botswana’s creative industry, this initiative offers more than just a design challenge. It presents a platform for exposure at a continental level, positioning the winner’s work across ARIPO’s network and activities. With growing recognition of the creative economy as a driver of business opportunities, such competitions underline the value of intellectual property in promoting originality, protecting innovation, and fostering sustainable creative enterprises.

Entrepreneurs in the local design, branding, and marketing sectors are encouraged to seize the opportunity, not only for the prize but also for the visibility and credibility that comes with being associated with ARIPO’s golden jubilee.

As Botswana pushes forward with its economic diversification agenda, initiatives like this highlight the role of intellectual property in empowering businesses, strengthening cross-border collaboration, and inspiring young innovators to embrace creativity as a pathway to growth.
