BTO Celebrates Tourism Stakeholders with Sundowner Session at Consumer Fair 2025. The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) hosted a Sundowner Session following five days of engagement at the Botswana Consumer Fair 2025, offering tourism operators, partners, and industry stakeholders a space to network and celebrate the sector’s progress.

The event highlighted the diversity and strength of Botswana’s tourism industry, with exhibitors under the BTO stall showcasing the country’s unique offerings. BTO Board member Lorato Kwelagobe commended tourism operators, associations, and community trusts for their active participation, noting that their dedication demonstrates the resilience and collaborative spirit driving the sector forward.

Kwelagobe also emphasized the critical role of partnerships, acknowledging private sector sponsors and local media for their support in amplifying Botswana’s tourism story. Special recognition was given to Sundowner sponsors, including Hilton Garden Inn Gaborone, The Grand Palm Hotel Casino Convention Resort, Hotel 430, Travelodge, and Tlokweng Rose Garden Guesthouse, whose contributions helped create a memorable networking experience.

The Sundowner attracted a wide array of distinguished guests, including BTO Board Member Kabo Motswagole, BTO Chief Executive Officer Keitumetse Setlang, Chairman of HATAB Joe Motse, HATAB CEO Lily Rakorong, Fairgrounds Holdings CEO Gorata Gabaraane, and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Minerals Development Company Botswana Ester Norris, alongside other industry stakeholders and media representatives.

For Botswana entrepreneurs and businesses, the Sundowner Session served as an important platform to forge connections, explore collaboration opportunities, and strengthen networks within the tourism ecosystem. Events like this reflect the ongoing commitment to promoting Botswana as a premier travel destination while fostering partnerships that support growth and innovation across the industry.
