SADC TFCA Webinar to Spotlight Regional Conservation and Business Opportunities. Botswana-based entrepreneurs and businesses are being invited to take part in the upcoming session of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) Webinar Series 2025, scheduled for 26 August from 14:00 to 15:30 CAT. The virtual event will unpack the outcomes of the recent SADC International Conference and Summit, with a focus on regional collaboration and sustainable development.

The webinar, themed “SADC TFCA International Conference & Summit Outcomes,” will highlight major policy commitments, innovative conservation approaches, and agreed next steps for joint action across member states. For Botswana’s private sector, the discussions offer insights into how cross-border conservation frameworks can translate into new opportunities in eco-tourism, resource management, and sustainable business ventures.

Supported by the Joint Action NaturAfrica / Climate Resilience and Natural Resource Management (C-NRM) Programme and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the initiative reflects a collaborative effort between SADC, the European Union in Botswana, and the German Government.

For local enterprises, the outcomes of this summit could help shape future investment in conservation-linked industries. With a growing focus on climate resilience and sustainable resource management, Botswana’s businesses—particularly in tourism, hospitality, agriculture, and renewable energy—stand to benefit from regional strategies aimed at unlocking both ecological and economic value.

The session will also explore resource mobilisation and regional priorities, providing participants with a clearer understanding of how conservation and development can go hand-in-hand. For entrepreneurs, this is a chance to align business strategies with regional sustainability goals while identifying areas for collaboration across borders.
