Creative Connect Comedy Lab Opens Doors for Botswana’s Funniest Entrepreneurs. Botswana’s rising comedy talents now have a unique opportunity to level up their craft — and their careers — as the Creative Connect Comedy Lab officially opens applications for its highly anticipated 5-day workshop, taking place from 8 to 12 September 2025 at the Mass Media Complex in Gaborone.
Designed for comedians of all experience levels — from aspiring newcomers to working professionals — the Comedy Lab promises hands-on training in comedy writing, performance, and career development. The workshop will be led by none other than acclaimed South African comedian and filmmaker Kagiso Lediga, known across the continent for his role in shaping Africa’s comedy scene. He’ll be joined by guest mentors bringing industry insight from across Africa’s creative economy.
For Botswana’s comedy entrepreneurs and creatives, this initiative presents more than just stage time. It’s a business development opportunity — one that nurtures performance talent while providing critical mentorship, audience-building strategies, and professional exposure.
Participants will also get the chance to showcase their material at the Comedy Lab’s grand Showcase Night, performing alongside international comedy heavyweights in front of a live audience of industry insiders and fans.
Applications are open now and close on 22 August 2025. Interested comedians residing in Botswana can apply via the official form: https://forms.gle/UJBCDFrchvFp3bQ36.
This initiative signals growing momentum in Botswana’s creative industries, offering comedians not just laughs, but platforms that build sustainable careers in the arts.
