Botswana Highlights Local Manufacturing at 2025 Indaba to Attract Regional Trade and Investment. Botswana took centre stage at the Manufacturing Indaba 2025 held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, showcasing its growing manufacturing capabilities and promoting Botswana-made products to regional markets.

The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), in partnership with the Botswana Consulate in South Africa, led the country’s presence at the event. The delegation was headed by Mr. Yandani Boko, Consul General to South Africa, with support from BITC representatives Mr. Omphitlhetse Bobo Senosi and Mr. Tigele Nleya.

Botswana’s participation focused on profiling emerging exporters and positioning the country as a competitive manufacturing hub within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). By highlighting the capabilities of local producers, the delegation aimed to strengthen market access and raise the visibility of Botswana-made goods across the region.

The exhibition featured a range of products from Botswana’s developing industrial base, reinforcing the country’s commitment to economic diversification and regional integration. It also served as a platform to engage potential partners, buyers, and investors interested in tapping into Botswana’s strategic location, stable business environment, and trade-friendly policies.

As part of the promotional efforts, the delegation also invited participants to the Global Expo Botswana 2025, scheduled for 8–11 October 2025, positioning the expo as a gateway for foreign investors to explore opportunities in the country’s expanding manufacturing sector.

For Botswana entrepreneurs and SMEs, the Indaba presented an important opportunity to gain international exposure and access new distribution channels. BITC’s continued efforts to profile local businesses abroad align with national goals of increasing exports, creating jobs, and building globally competitive industries.
