Tendering Masterclass 2025 to Equip Marginalised Entrepreneurs for Botswana’s P80 Billion Procurement Market. The Botswana Entrepreneurship Initiative (BEI) will host the Tendering Masterclass 2025 on Saturday, August 30, at Cresta President Hotel in Gaborone, offering intensive training for local entrepreneurs eager to tap into Botswana’s vast public procurement system.

With the government spending over P80 billion annually through tenders, the event is designed to empower local manufacturers, women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) to successfully participate in competitive bidding processes — a key avenue for inclusive economic growth.

Under Botswana’s Local Procurement Scheme, marginalised groups are entitled to a 15% preferential treatment, but many still face challenges due to limited information, compliance barriers, and lack of technical support. The masterclass directly addresses these gaps through hands-on learning and expert-led sessions.

Key areas of focus include procurement categories under Works, Supplies, and Services, tender pricing models, bid compliance, financing, insurance, logistics, legal requirements, and taxation. The training will also emphasise import substitution, encouraging the participation of local manufacturers to reduce dependency on foreign products.

The registration fee is BWP1,000.00 and covers a full-day session, training materials, refreshments, and a Certificate of Participation. BEI aims to demystify the tendering process and help more entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses through government contracting opportunities.
